Community Leaders Association (CLA) fosters community and business relationships with California Lutheran University, its faculty, and students to enhance the university’s standing in accordance with its mission, vision, and values. Members serve as ambassadors promoting university initiatives and providing networking opportunities through fundraising events. Since its inception in 1963, CLA has contributed more than $1.9 million to support Cal Lutheran’s academic programs and provide scholarships for deserving student leaders.
With each $2,500 we raise, another student receives a CLA Scholarship!
"During my time at Cal Lutheran, I was a recipient of the CLA student scholarship. This scholarship was a blessing because It allowed me to pay for books and other non-tuition-based expenses associated with attending college. Along with being able to pay for these items it also brought peace of mind knowing that I was able to get everything needed to make me successful at Cal Lutheran and after. During my senior year, I had the privilege to serve on the CLA board as a student representative. While serving in this role I gained more appreciation for everything that the Community Leaders Association does at Cal Lutheran. From organizing fundraising events to fund scholarships to putting on the Matthew’s Leadership forum they truly impact the lives of several students much like me. Now having graduated in May 2020, I am very grateful for the opportunities and experiences CLA has made possible in my life and am thankful that this organization exists to support many more students to come." - Jacob Aguilera ‘20
