In the face of ecological crises and uncertainty, academic communities can create positive change. Here at Cal Lutheran, we have outstanding faculty, staff, and students in Environmental Sciences, the environmental humanities, and various ecological efforts on campus.
We want to be able to expand our offerings for student participation, reduce our campus greenhouse gas emissions, organic waste, and water use, and create a campus laboratory for learning about sustainability and life-giving connections to the natural world. Our funding initiatives are a first step toward helping to address the following needs.
Give to Sustainability Initiatives
This funding will go towards constructing a new shade pavilion in the SEEd Garden, with comfortable chairs amid beautiful plants, to allow students additional places to rest or do homework and groups to meet – even when the Garden’s classroom space is in use.
Stretch Goal: Funds received above our $10,000 goal for the pavilion will go to restoring the chicken coop and bringing back chickens for the Garden!
Thank you; your support will create a forward movement in creating a greener campus!
