Unstoppable Scholarship

The Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals students are the most diverse student population at Cal Lutheran. They range in age from 19 years to 70 plus.  Some are CEOs and own companies, others are middle managers, and many students are just getting started in their professional journeys.  About 60% of our students are first-generation college students (aka first-time college-goers), 60% are from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations, 40% identify as financially insecure, and nearly 20% are veterans.

Individuals who have been the most impacted by the pandemic are from underrepresented and lower-socioeconomic groups. Our students are no different.  Many have lost jobs or have experienced reductions in hours or pay, some have become financially responsible for more family members, and many have children or grandchildren who were educated from home for over a year.  Additionally, some of our students have lost loved ones from Covid-19.

Like no time previously, these students are having to make tough choices - to pay for a college degree or step away to cover necessary living expenses. We don’t want them to have to make that choice.  No matter their journey, our mission is to provide our students with access to quality education.  But they need your help to cross the finish line and realize their dream.

In 2021 we were able to award 4 Unstoppable Scholarships which helped the recipients continue their education and complete their degrees!  These students would have had to stop out without your support!

The Unstoppable Scholarship will help students in need continue to bridge the financial gap and continue their education.

Thank you for your generosity and for contributing to the success of our hard-working students.
