It is indeed unfortunate that so many in our community are stressed, dealing with loss, or having difficulties where they are having trouble seeing their way through. For those who decide to reach out to get help from a therapist, sometimes the cost of psychological treatment is too much to bear.
Our Cal Lutheran clinics provide mental health counseling to people throughout Ventura and West LA counties, and the sliding scale fee helps those underinsured or uninsured. We provide the community with 10,000 sessions each year. Yet, even our lowest fee is a barrier to some families who want to access our services. To help those with extreme financial need, we have a program that provides free psychological services.
Each donation of $25 provides a free session to a child or adult at Community Counseling Services. A donation of $200 covers therapy for eight sessions, covering the cost of two months of free counseling for a person facing financial hardship.
Here are what our clients are saying:
“Services here have been life saving for me. I came here incredibly lost and down. I never thought I could afford therapy, but through CLU I’ve regained my confidence and have been given tools to handle life. Without this resource I really can’t imagine where I’d be.”

“A friend referred me here and I can honestly say it’s been the best therapy I have ever experienced. I’ve been to multiple therapists throughout my life and this one has had the biggest impact on me and my personal growth. I highly, highly recommend Cal Lutheran Services.”
