TRIO Upward Bound Programs

California Lutheran University has a long-standing history of housing successful TRIO Programs.

With your help, the funds raised for the Upward Bound Programs will help address the areas of greatest need which include ensuring funding for continued summer residential academic experiences for Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math and Science scholars in 2024 and for years to come. Here are some examples:

  • The TRIO Upward Bound Programs provide fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Upward Bound provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
  • Upward Bound serves high school students from Income eligible families, and families where neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
  • The Upward Bound Math and Science Program’s goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourage them to pursue postsecondary degrees as well as careers in STEM.
