During these extraordinary days, the ministry team at Cal Lutheran has shown remarkable courage, innovation, and resilience. They are deepening connections within the Cal Lutheran community and finding new ways to serve students, especially those who are food insecure. Through the generosity of our Mission & Identity and Campus Ministry supporters, we are able to provide access to food to those who have the most need during their time here at Cal Lutheran.
By making your gift to Mission & Identity, you will be making a difference in the lives of our students and the community of Cal Lutheran!
We appreciate your support of this work on Cal Lutheran Cares Day.

Give to Community Cupboard
The Community Cupboard fund is used to provide food support for students who are in need. Many students, challenged with paying for tuition, rent, textbooks, gas, etc., can find themselves without financial resources to pay for food. The Community Cupboard is available for these students – a variety of non-perishable items are readily available which can easily be prepared. Trader Joe’s gift cards are also available for students who have dietary restrictions and can't find what is needed in the Cupboard.
Help us Grow!
We have big plans for our Community Cupboard, and with your support, we’re confident we can make them happen!
Currently, our Community Cupboard is housed in a few cabinets in our Chapel lounge. Our goal is to move our Cupboard into a larger, walk-in, petite grocery style space in one of our open offices in the Chapel. We have plans for adding perishable items, in partnership with donations from Sodexo and off campus partners, with the addition of refrigerated shelving. Lastly, we hope to make this safe space accessible 24 hours a day by secure ID-card access for the CLU Community.
Give to Greatest Need
The Mission & Identity Greatest Need fund provides support to expand learning and service opportunities for the Cal Lutheran community rooted in the values of Lutheran higher education.
