The mission of the School for Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS) is to invest in the academic, leadership, and personal enrichment pursuits of post-traditional learners, creating a continuum of educational experiences that support degree attainment, life-long learning, professional development, leadership excellence, and service to the region.
The School is home to the Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals program, the Fifty and Better program (based in the Center for Lifelong Learning), and the Center for Nonprofit Leadership (CNL).
The students in the Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals program are the most diverse student population at Cal Lutheran. Many are overcoming significant obstacles (including financial insecurity) in order to complete their undergraduate degree.
The students in the Fifty and Better program are the ultimate lifelong learners. They are 50+ years of age and seeking intellectual stimulation (without the pressure of grades) for the sake of learning and social engagement.
The Center for Nonprofit Leadership is the one-stop source for excellence in nonprofit leadership (to learn more about the CNL please see their fundraising page).
Like most individuals, all our students (whether they are 20 or 80 years of age) have been deeply impacted during this unprecedented time. You can help us deliver our mission and support our learners by:
- Making a gift to the Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals Unstoppable Scholarship to help students bridge a financial gap and complete their degree
- Making a gift to the Fifty and Better (FAB) program to help grow by supporting administrative and program costs
- Making a gift to the School for Professional and Continuing Studies greatest needs
Your choice to support the School for Professional and Continuing Studies on Cal Lutheran Cares Day is appreciated. Thank you!
